Jana has been a huge help trying to teach me how to start a blog.
I am a slow learner. But I am learning!

Remember When Jana, Jeffrey, Brittan and Shannon Came to Visit?

We were fortunate to have Jana visit for over 3 weeks! She came June 10 for Caitlin Stolworthy’s wedding. I would have held her hostage, and kept her in Las Vegas longer had poor Collin and the puppies not been waiting patiently for her return.

In-n-Out is always the first stop!
Jana plans an amazing party with lots of good things to eat.
This bridal shower was rockin'!
These two beauties have been the best of friends since they were small.

Shannon, Jeffrey and Brittan came to Vegas for the wedding, too. We were so happy to have them come stay for a few days!

Cute sisters!
Shannon was the lead cosmetologist making everyone look good!
These guys are still newlyweds themselves.
It was a wonderful day celebrating Caitlin's wedding.
We are so glad Jana was able to come out from NYC!
This girl can cut a rug! Jeffrey is the dancing photobomber!
And check Larry out!
The funnest people at the party!

Guess who caught the bouquet? Yikes!

The Container Park is the place to visit when you come to town. Downtown Las Vegas is trying to clean up and bring more businesses to town. It is very interesting to see what they have done so far. We all had to go explore and see the sights.

Baxter is a happy dog when the kids come to visit!

Lots of laughter rings through the house when the kids come to visit. It is always better when they are all home at the same time, but we will take them is shifts if we have to. So good to have you all come visit!

Roadtrip to Utah

07.23.14

We enjoyed every second with the kids while they were in town, so much that I followed them to Utah. They can’t get rid of Gram that easy! I got to spend a few extra days snuggling those cuties and my favorite part was being able to babysit them the night before my return to Las Vegas. Aunt Laura and I did our best to ruin all their mother’s good habits by feeding them spaghetti and homemade French bread. Ok, we threw in a green salad for veggies. Little did I know, that this was just the beginning of the fabulous food I would be consuming for the next month!
Bookends!

Looking at the ducks!

We visited Bountiful, Utah this weekend, celebrating the 24th of July.
They always have a grand celebration at the park with lots of food booths, games,
and rides for the kids. Rosie loved her cool, sweet, melty popsicle.

This girl loves fast cars!
There is a great park not far from Kevin and Laura's house with lots of space to run and play. I lost track of the number of times the kids went up and down the slide. And Rosie LOVED the swing! Our goal was to wear them out so bedtime would be a breeze. And it was! We got them bathed (a little dessert first!) and then Ivy read us a couple bedtime stories, we sang songs, and said prayers. Ivy and Oliver went to bed - Ivy was out before I left the room. It took Oli just a bit longer. Then I got to rock sweet Rosie. These grandkids are the best! Grandma work is sweet work.
Ivy and Oliver raced to the top of this hill. Run Run Run!

Little Rosie loved the swing. She thought she was a big kid!

Tired kiddos!

4th of July in St. George

07.21.14

We all went to St. George to celebrate the 4th of July with Grandma and Grandpa Laidlaw! It used to be a tradition for all the Laidlaw children and families to congregate in St. George and it has been years since we have spent this holiday with all the them. Over the years, Grandma and Grandpa have been such good sports and made sure the kids had good food and a great time. Grandpa always maintained a fleet of working hotwheels so the kids could zip around and around the yard thousands of times! There were wooden swords for the Robin Hoods, Willow Ufgoods and Mad Mardigans to wield while protecting the Laidlaw Kingdom. Boats of all kinds were floated down raging waters in the awesome gutters. One was never sure what character would come up from the depths of the basement where the costume bin had been raided. There were a few years when the kids set up lemonade stands, the beginnings of their entrepreneurial exploits. We wish all our children could have made it to St. George this year. Those who were able to make it had a great time reliving those wonderful memories through the next generation.

Rosie loves her Auntie Jana! She is the BEST!
The professional touch. Thanks Auntie Mandee!
Look how pretty!

Happy 4th of July!

Swim Time!

Ready. Set. Go!
Balls and a swimming pool. It doesn't get better than this!

The prettiest swimmer!
Motoring around the pool with dad.
Chillin' with Gram and Papa!
Papa and Oli swimming in the pool!
Papa is the best pool toy!
Ivy is so tall standing on Papa's shoulders!
Dad is a pretty good pool toy, too!
The cat life! Rosie definitely knows how to kick back and relax in the pool.
All she needed was a little umbrella for her drink!
Rosie was very hesitant when she took her first couple of dips in the pool,
but by the end of her visit she was a champion water baby! Go Rosie!

Having Fun With the Kids

Linsey and Brian came to Nevada and their visit overlapped the last couple days of Jana’s visit. It was Gram and Papa time for almost a month!  What a delight to have those adorable little grand kids of ours visit for so long! I’m sure we have the cutest and the smartest grandkids ever (no bias here)!

We enjoyed an evening with the kids playing dominoes.
This is a great game for the whole family and Ivy and Oliver were champs!
Oliver was convinced he had "magic fingers!"
The kids enjoyed squishing the play doh through their fingers.
Who is this Ninja Turtle?
Ivy is a pro at drawing Ninja turtles. She was very particular in
how she was trying to show Gram the proper way to draw a turtle.
Cowabunga dude!
Rosie dares anyone to take this watermelon away from her.
There is nothing better than a big piece of paper and new markers.
These guys made a great team working together to create a beautiful masterpiece.
Love me some grandkids!
Working in the garage with Papa and his tools.
They are making some animals and a pirate ship.
Arrgh! Ahoy Pirate Oli and his ship!
My newest piano student! Ivy was a very good!

We took the kids to the Container Park. It is a very cool place to check out!

The playground at the park! These slides are very tall.
Rosie is contemplating how to get to the top of the slide.
Who do you think will be able to build the highest lego tower?
Playing the drums!
Waiting for the praying mantis to start breathing fire!

Mt. Charleston was a relief from the heat. And roasting marshmallows
and making s'mores was a lot of fun!

It takes a great deal of concentration to roast the perfect mallow
Papa is a master at roasting mallows. He has had lots of practice!
Perfection! Yum! Yum!
